Warriors & Whiskey held its inaugural fundraiser in partnership with St. Augustine Distillery on Saturday, 19 June, 2021. The fundraiser benefited K9s For Warriors, an incredible organization that is dedicated to stopping veteran suicides from PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). The event kicked off with an engaging social hour in St. Augustine Distillery’s tasting room where guests mingled, chatted, and simply just got acquainted while sipping tasty cocktails provided by the distillery.
The guests enjoyed mouth-watering BBQ with all the fixins from Mission BBQ while perusing the many giveaway items available and speaking to the good folks from K9s For Warriors.
Tim Crosby and his Warrior Team, Greg and Laura, spoke to us about the incredible services K9s For Warriors provide to our veterans. This organization is absolutely worth every penny we donate. From selecting rescue dogs, to their comprehensive 21 day human & dog pairing and training classes, to their selection of forever-homes for animals that don’t quite meet the service animal certification, K9s For Warriors stands for integrity, honor, and doing what’s best for the veteran and their service animal.
Clark, from St. Augustine Distillery, led us in an amazing whiskey tasting experience that was fun, entertaining, and extremely educational. Clark is part stand-up comedic and part whiskey expert that absolutely made the experience a delight for everyone in the room.
We topped off the evening with amazing giveaways that included a whiskey basket from St. Augustine Distillery; Magazine subscriptions from Whisky Magazine and American Whiskey Magazine; Baseball tickets from Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp; Tattoo sessions from the talented Omar Safi; Gift certificates from Prohibition Kitchen and Southern Social Whiskey Bar and Lounge; all-day fishing charters from Great Daye Fishing Charters; and complimentary design and production of 100 challenge coins from Eccentriq Development Solutions LLC.
Each guest received a gift bag with the latest magazines from Whisky Magazine and American Whiskey Magazine, a rocks glass from St. Augustine Distillery, and the official challenge coin of Warriors & Whiskey and Veterans’ Whiskey Club.
